The most glamorous of careers often hide some of the darkest stories beneath. Lolo Jones, who is the champion of the USA and World the hurdle championships, achieved this status after many years of dedication and endurance. Jones experienced a tough childhood as she was the sole child of a mother with a large family. Her mother was always shifting and even lived within the basement. Jones lived a nomadic existence that made her change schools every year until high school. Jones needed to be separated from mother at Theodore Roosevelt School in order to pursue her interest in track. She stayed in four residences during her time at high school, so she could attend all of her classes in the same place. Jones won the Gatorade Iowa Track & Field Athlete of the Year award during her time at school. She also was a part of the school orchestra, as cellist. Jones became one of college's top hurdlers when she entered. At the 2002 NCAA Track and Field Championships, Jones won the 100 meter hurdles. In addition, she was a part of the team finishing second for 100-meters relay. Jones won the NCAA Indoor Hurdles event in 2003 and in 2004. Jones began training in 2005, when she completed her college studies. She was the winner of both her events, the Torino Memorial and the Heusden Track events during the same season.

Brandt moved to Auckland, New Zealand after moving from Cape Town South Africa in late in her adolescence. Discovered by local casting directors Brandt was cast in the role of Naevia in the Starz smashes Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena. She was one of the most prominent actors in this series, working with Steven S. D Knight & Sam Raimi. Mazikeen appeared as the Vertigo/DC comics popular Mazikeen in Netflix's Lucifer, which ran for six years. Forbes named Lucifer the top-rated show in 2021. Brandt will next be seen with Andrew Lincoln in the limited Walking Dead 6 episode spin-off which will premiere in 2024. She is also starring opposite Jason Ritter Anthony Carrigan and Chris Meloni in the adult animated series Captain Fall which airs July 2023 on Netflix. Lesley-Ann Brandt is an South African actress, born in Cape Town on the 2nd December 1981. She's a very talented New Zealand actress. Lesley Brandt, along with the rest of her family, relocated into Auckland New Zealand back in 1999. In Auckland she was employed as a salesperson, and then get promoted to IT managerial consultant. Lesley started out modeling after which she began appearing in commercials. She graduated in 2008 from her majors and studied Meisner method of study. Lesley's debut prominent role on screen in New Zealand was as a TV actor on Diplomatic Immunity. Lesley Brandt has shown up in The New Zealand TV drama series Shortland Street with a role as a supporting character. In the following season, she was in the sci-fi action thriller This Is Not My Life that is based upon anecdotal Waimoana. Lesley Brandt played Naevia in the show Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Later, she played the role in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.
